Are you an Amazon Prime member? Do you like to travel? In preparation for your upcoming vacation, here are 5 Amazon Subscription Secrets that will show you which items to add to your delivery as well as a few items you’re better off buying at the store!
One way to budget your travel investment is by taking snacks along for the ride. Raising three boys, having food at hand was always a must! When I drive or fly Southwest (2 bags free!), I pack snacks and personal items to go, but I have also had Amazon deliver packages to my destination to be there upon my arrival!
This past year, I began using Amazon’s Subscription service to deliver discounted dog food, toiletries, personal care items, and vitamins to the house at usually 15% off the Amazon price.
Hint: you can cancel subscriptions at any time, so after receiving a discounted subscription delivery or after you have enough “in stock” for your trip, just cancel the subscription – voila!
Beef Jerky
My youngest son is a picky eater, but one protein he willingly eats is beef jerky! By ordering on Amazon Subscription, you save money over what they cost at the store and you have a transportable snack that will sustain your family’s endurance throughout your travel. As they arrive at your house, just store them in your luggage in preparation for departure! Remember to take Ziploc bags if you want to create “snack packs”!
Neutrogena 100 SPF Sunscreen
Keeping our families safe in the summer sun is important. We have sensitive skin, and Neutrogena is the one sunscreen I have found that doesn’t burn, itch, or cause breakouts. Buying this sunscreen on Amazon Subscription saves you time – you’re not constantly watching ads to find it at a good price in the stores. This 3-ounce size is even TSA-friendly!
Power Up Trail Mix
At home, I often make my own trail mix. But when I came across ” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener nofollow” class=”aioseop-link”>Power Up Trail Mix on Amazon while preparing for our vacation, I couldn’t pass it up! It has the same gluten-free, Omega-rich nuts, seeds, and dried fruits that I add to my own mix – without the bagging, mixing, weighing, and portioning! Trail Mix helps keep your family’s energy up and it’s something that children and older relatives alike will snack on as you adventure through your days!
RXBAR Blueberry Protein Bars
These high-protein, gluten-free snack bars are a FAVORITE in my house! They satisfy both a sweet tooth (without the sugar!) and a craving for protein (12 grams – from Egg Whites) in one pocket-sized package. This pack of 24 will serve a traveling family of 5 for most of a week – and they’re so good they never get old. Buying them on Amazon Subscription is better than finding them on sale at Sprouts!
Pop-Tarts Family Packs
Another way to save time and investment on vacation is to bring your own breakfasts. Unless you’re staying in a hotel where breakfast is included (strongly recommended – but sometimes isn’t an option), you might use a grocery delivery service to deliver fruits and milk if you don’t have a car (when staying at Disney, for instance), stop at a grocery store if you do have a car (rental or your own), or – if those aren’t an option, pack Pop Tarts for snacks and breakfast alike for the kiddos. While they’re not the healthiest option, when my boys were younger, they’d eat Pop Tarts before they’d take a protein bar!
What to Buy at the Store Instead
While the above items provide a great value on Amazon’s Subscription service, there are still some travel-friendly snacks and items available on Amazon that you can frequently find for less at your local grocery. Cheez-its, Triscuits, Microwave Popcorn, Ginger Chews (for motion sickness) and Prunes are all permanent items on my packing list that Price Chopper or Costco (prunes for days!!) often has on sale or for less than buying online.
