Preparing for a Disney Cruise can be so exciting (and so nerve-wracking if you’ve never been before!)
Here are a few tips to keep your cool with the kiddos and make memories that will last a lifetime!
- Take a Yeti or Tervis tumbler for drinks – soda is complimentary up by the pool.
- Do not miss the shows – they alone are worth going on the cruise for. Many travelers love late dining on this particular cruise.
- Pro Tip: Go to the show first – then dinner. Otherwise the kids are tired after dinner and will likely fall asleep!
- OR, for some adult time, eat dinner first and then drop kiddos at the kids club for the rest of the night!
- Take cheap sand toys and leave them behind at Castaway Cay- buying them on site is expensive at $20 a toy. One client brings collapsible buckets that pack flat and then takes them on every beach vacation.
- Give each kid a Disney gift card before you leave- they can use it in the gift shop onboard- a great opportunity for teaching budgeting, too!
- Pirate night- costumes are optional- you’ll see some people all decked out and others who just have on a bandana… it’s a fun evening for the entire family!
- The fireworks at sea that night are a blast- be sure the kids nap that day and not miss them! DCCL is the only cruise line who does nighttime fireworks – so it’s special!
A Disney Cruise can be whatever kind of experience you want it to be – more on the quiet, relaxing side or even the excited, party-vibe type of vacation. That’s the magic of Disney!
